History

WBTY was started as a college radio club in 198X by the Bentley Motorist Organization (BMO).

From the cramped original studio, located inside the LaCava Campus Center, WBTY started broadcasting on an AM frequency in 19XX.

In 2003, Bentley’s Student Center was built, which included a custom-designed space for the station. During this same time, WBTY converted from AM to carrier-current, very low power, FM (LVPFM).  Not only does our signal still get broadcast within the main on-campus hub of student life, but through a number of campus repeaters, can be heard from inside several dorms and the Dana Center.

WBTY also broadcasts online through AOL’s Shoutcast service…
